Investing in New Technology: CAD + CNC = A-OK!

In our line of work, we have to be pretty passionate about new tech! As well as our responsive website, we’ve also hopped on board with a new innovation that’s set to revolutionise the way we work and enable us to respond to ever-increasing customer demand.

Embracing the latest in computer-aided design

At Rubber Box, we’re always looking for ways to improve our products and service, which is why we’ve invested in a new Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machine.

Coupled with advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software, this high-tech kit will make a big change to the way we design and manufacture our bespoke products.

What is computer-aided design?

CAD involves creating virtual models defined by mathematical parameters. These models act as 3D representations of whatever you’re making, and can be altered and tested on screen by adjusting the relevant parameters.

In simple terms, what this means is that our CAD system allows us to try out new ideas and scenarios much more easily than before. And what that means is new products and new solutions in less time than before.

When linked up with a CNC machine, CAD software not only removes the risk of human error; it speeds up processes and provides cost-effective cutting without the need for manual tooling.

Increased quality and precision for all products

As a leading manufacturer of bespoke power distribution equipment, we pride ourselves on delivering products that not only fulfil your needs perfectly, but are slick, sleek and spot-on in terms of their finish.

Investing in CAD software lets us offer increased quality and precision on every product we manufacture, which can only mean increased value for you.

Reduced build times and costs

By removing the need for manual modelling and cutting, our new CNC machine will seriously speed things up around here! Aligned with CAD software, the machine can cut rubber to within a millimetre’s precision – perfect first time, every time.

The result? Reduced build times and costs – and if we’re saving time and money, then so will you.

Increased capability and diversity

CAD software and CNC machines offer an increased level of capability and diversity. With this new technology on board, there are now even fewer limits to what we can offer in terms of bespoke power distros – helping us to meet your needs.

Plans for the future

While right now we’re using our new CNC machinery to speed up and improve our processes, don’t think we’ll be resting on our laurels.

We have big plans for this latest technological investment: in the near future, we’ll be offering a precision engraving service that will help you keep your power distribution equipment safe.

From logos and company names to serial numbers, we’ll be able to place identifying markers on your power distribution boxes, so you can confirm at a glance that they’re yours.
