Our visit to Prolight and Sound 2025!

We’ve just returned from one of the most anticipated events on our industry calendar – Prolight and Sound 2025 in Frankfurt! Once again, it was a brilliant experience. As UK-based power distro supplier here at Rubber Box, we’re proud to have an international reach, and it’s always a pleasure to be part of this globally renowned event. If you were in attendance yourself, you’ll already have some idea of what we’re talking about – and if you didn’t, here’s a quick insight into what went on!

A quick introduction to Prolight and Sound

You may have heard of Prolight and Sound before – it’s essentially one of the leading international trade fairs dedicated to technologies and services for entertainment, shows, events, audiovisual system integration, and content creation. Held annually at Messe Frankfurt, it draws professionals from across a huge variety of sectors, including lighting and sound engineering, theatre production, broadcasting, and multimedia installation.

Since its first launch in 1995, the show has played a significant role in shaping trends and showcasing advances in live event production and technical innovation. Alongside our team at Rubber Box, regular attendees include venue operators, rental and production companies, designers, engineers, consultants, and systems integrators.

This year was especially significant too, as it marked the 30th anniversary of the event. Originally, it started out as an independent product group within Musikmesse Frankfurt, which makes it all the impressive that it’s grown to become a massive trade fair in its own right!

We’ve become a well-known presence at Prolight and Sound, and proud to be so. It’s always been a key stop for us, a place where we share our latest developments and connect with long-time partners and new customers alike. If you’ve followed us for a while, you’ll know that various members of our team have made the trip over the years – and we’ve always been pleased to share highlights from our visits. (Besides 2020, of course!) Today, Rubber Box is proud to be part of Walther-Werke, our German parent company, which has deepened our connection with Prolight and Sound’s host country.

This year, our spotlight was firmly on our new energy meters. We’ve been helping behind-the-scenes to develop this range for quite some time now, and the result is an increasingly vital tool for any operation that wants to track and manage its power usage with accuracy. As well as helping to give useful insights regarding consumption, they support better decision-making in day-to-day operations. As part of the overall project, our team is also working with other Walther-Werke teams to develop solutions that integrate remotely, using wireless technology and SIM card connectivity for real-time data reporting and off-site access.

Prolight and Sound is the biggest event on our schedule this year, and it fits into a full calendar of appearances. Only last month in March, we took part in Data Centre World London, and in September, we’ll be back in the capital again for Plasa. If you’re planning to attend, we’d love to see you there!
